Apple & Pecans Ambrosia Salad (with Edible Flowers)
Kids enjoy them and Mom approve too! I love apple and pecans. They are in abundance in the US. The old saying, “An apple a day, keeps the doctor away” rings true in my life. I want to try different ways to make a summer time treat that is fresh and healthy. Pansies are edible flowers and they are natural antihistamine so give this dish a try during allergy season.
Apples are extremely rich in important antioxidants, flavanoids, and dietary fiber. The phytonutrients and antioxidants in apples may help reduce the risk of developing cancer, hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease.
Serving for 8
|6 cups||Apple cut into the size of a quarter|
|16 oz||Plain yogurt|
|2 cups||Chopped pecans or walnuts (whatever your preference)|
|16 oz||Shredded coconut|
|Lemon or Lemon-Lime (squeeze for juice)
Add all the ingredients together in a bowl and let chill in the refrigerator for 30 min before serving.
